WHY | As a not-briefed-design-driven-idea, this concept focusses on the insight of the social acceptance of gaming as a sport and the impact it has on the physical game of football and its culture.

The unveiling of the fifa player ratings has become a spectacle that rivals the actual game as a builder of hype and causer of controversy. It’s always an event in itself: players, fans and gamers unite to show their appreciation - or more likely - frustration with the ratings. It makes up for an entertaining real time conversation for all to follow and interact with.

What | We took this moment as inspiration: born from the ratings in FIFA 22, motivating players to improve both on the pitch and in the game.

how | In the Fifa games, the number 99 stands for the highest rating achievable in all player categories. We allocated pace (PAC) to our X franchise, dribble (DRI) to Predator and passing (PAS) to Copa. Based on the DNA of each specific franchise, we created unique graphics that connect the number 99 to the franchise. The colors have been inspired by the OG Playstation 1 controller and are aimed at creating energy and high visibility on the pitch.

don’t stop until you are 99!
